Student Support
Academic support is provided to individual students at the Primary School on a daily basis within the classroom and as part of the standard academic program for every child. The education program is designed to meet students where they are academically and to provide the proper balance of challenge and support to help the student achieve appropriate academic and social emotional growth.
Academic Support Team
A team of Primary School educators meets regularly to identify students in need of academic support beyond that provided by the regular classroom teacher. The team reviews assessment data, classroom observations and reports from classroom teachers and Encore teachers to develop learning plans for identified students. The team includes: Head of Campus; Student Support Coordinator/Math Coordinator; Curriculum Coordinator; Reading Specialist; and School Counselor.
Reading Specialist
Students meet with the Reading Specialist in the classroom, individually or in small groups as deemed necessary by the Academic Support Team.
Math Coordinator
The Math Coordinator provides supplemental classroom materials for use by classroom teachers. The Coordinator works with teachers to help them develop alternate instructional strategies and makes classroom visits to assist identified students.
