Health instruction encourages students to explore a healthy set of
values that will help them to face the many difficult decisions their
modern, changing society presents. Students strengthen their
decision-making skills for the present and future by examining various
personal and social issues. The Health Department also offers
sophomores Drivers' Education, which emphasizes defensive driving and
the responsibilities of getting behind the wheel. As a junior or
senior, students take First Aid and CPR for American Red Cross
certification.
The Physical Education Department provides opportunities for students
to improve fitness and better understand the importance of lifetime
activity- through a variety of activities ranging from team sports to
kayaking in the indoor pool. Through their participation in physical
education classes, students acquire physical and motor skills that help
to motivate performance and develop self-respect.
