The Library/Technology program is an integral part of the Primary
School curriculum and is designed to develop information literacy.
Library classes provide a rich learning environment for elementary
students as they participate interactively in the processes of
storytelling, booktalking and research. The program is structured to
instill an awareness and understanding of the research process that
will encourage independence and lifelong learning. Beginning in
kindergarten, students combine strategic methods of research utilizing
various print, non-print, and electronic resources.
The Library /Technology program also promotes and supports the
integration of technology into the classrooms. Second grade research
and the third grade Colonial study both culminate with students
developing their own PowerPoint presentations. Third grade students
additionally publish their own electronic books that they share in the
library at the end of their study of folklore.
