The Primary School nurse provides students with health instruction each
year on topics such as nutrition, dental health, and hygiene; and the
counselor teaches classes that help students to better understand
emotions and the responsibilities of friendship.
The physical education program helps children to understand and
appreciate their bodies, develop motor and coordination skills, and
appreciate physical activities. Teachers are aware of the different
maturation levels within each class and are careful to encourage and
reward individual growth rather than to promote competition. The
program promotes essential basic-skill development while encouraging a
high level of interest in physical, recreational activity.
