The goal of the Health and Physical Education Departments is to give
students the foundation to live a healthy life. Health instruction
informs students about topics such as nutrition, substance abuse, and
human sexuality; and gives them the foundation to make healthy life
choices.
The Physical Education program concentrates on building students'
skills in a variety of ways, through participation in activities
ranging from team sports to aerobics. Learning rules and developing the
habit of good sportsmanship are integral to class instruction. Fitness
is also an important focus, and every student takes the President's
Physical Fitness test in both the fall and the spring of each year.
